# Radio data for developers and AI agents

Find a station, inspect its metadata and return a useful listening page to a person. Public reads do not require registration, an API key or JavaScript.

## Search station records

GET https://worldradionow.top/api/stations?q=BBC%20World%20Service&limit=5 GET https://worldradionow.top/api/stations?country=GB&language=en&genre=news GET https://worldradionow.top/api/stations/{id}

q matches station names, countries, cities, languages and topics. country is a two-letter ISO country code; language accepts an English language label or a supported ISO code; genre matches a directory tag. Pagination uses limit (1–50, default 20) and offset (0–5000). Follow the response’s next URL for the next page. Unsupported inputs return JSON with HTTP 400; unknown IDs return HTTP 404.

## Links and formats

- page_url and listen_url identify the canonical World Radio Now listening page. They are HTML pages, not raw audio URLs.
- official_url, when present, points to the broadcaster’s website. It is different from the directory listening page.
- country_url, language_urls and genre_urls point to available directory pages.
- Append index.md to a station URL for Markdown, or request that page with Accept: text/markdown.
- Directory and guide pages expose a Markdown alternate in their HTML head. Start at [the text homepage](https://worldradionow.top/text/index.md)
or [llms.txt](https://worldradionow.top/llms.txt)
.

## Source, freshness and limitations

The API searches 2,189 records from the 2026-10-13 Radio Browser snapshot. Every response states snapshot_at and the data source. An API response’s cache time is not a new station verification date. Stream availability, schedules, broadcast rights and regional restrictions can change; no current availability check is implied. Search order uses name relevance followed by alphabetical order, not paid placement or an editorial quality score.

. JSON API reads support CORS and GET, HEAD and OPTIONS. Cached results reduce repeated work. The API provides no write, payment, email or account operation.

## Human listening and feedback

For a listener who wants to hear a station, its listen_url opens the relevant player and reference information. Use the [HTML search](https://worldradionow.top/search/)
without JavaScript or the [live directory](https://worldradionow.top/)
for a wider live search. [About this directory](https://worldradionow.top/about/)
explains corrections and data provenance. Feedback endpoints are private and are excluded from this public API.
