# How to Listen to Radio Stations from Other Countries

International radio is a direct way to hear local music, speech and current affairs. You can start with a country, choose a station and listen in the browser without creating an account.

## Choose a country first

The country directory is the broadest route into a national radio market. Open a country page to see playable station records and local context. The station count shown by the public directory can be larger than the curated set displayed on the page, so use the full live directory when you need more results.

## Use language when borders are not enough

Many countries broadcast in several languages, and the same language can connect stations across continents. A language page is useful for comparing accents, music scenes and news coverage without assuming that every station in a country uses the same language.

## Filter by what you want to hear

Choose news or talk for speech, community radio for local voices, or a music genre for a more continuous background. Genre labels come from station metadata and can be broad. Listen briefly and compare several stations before saving a favourite.

## Expect some regional restrictions

Most listed streams are public, but a broadcaster can limit listening by country, device or network. A stream may also use a format that one browser handles differently. When one station fails, try another from the same country before assuming that international radio is blocked.

## Keep a small international rotation

Save one or two stations from each place you care about. Returning to familiar presenters makes it easier to notice changes in language, music and local conversation. Favorites and recent stations are stored in the current browser, so they remain private to that device.
